Roof Slate Sponsorship and Certificates.
Paisley2020.org is pleased to promote this worthy cause with all Paisley buddies, organisations and companies.
Paisley Abbey saw a period of restoration begin in 1862, which saw the demolition of the Mediaeval Fourth cloister. The church was assuranced by a respected local historian the structure was a later addition and not worth preservation. Unfortunately this was not correct, and the Abbey lost an important part of it's history.
Recently a plan was announced to re-build the missing fourth cloister.
A new entrance and better visitor facilities are planned for Paisley Abbey. Renovations at the Place of Paisley are also planned. A key part of the proposal is to create new indoor space between the Abbey and the adjoining Place of Paisley, with existing space in the Place of Paisley to be adapted to host more concerts and conferences. It is hoped the planned extension and renovations will be ready for the 850th anniversary of the founding of the Abbey, on St Mirin's Day, the 15th September 2013.
We ask all Paisley Buddies to consider making a donation to this great cause. After all, the Abbey is the jewel in Paisley's crown, and our biggest tourist attraction.
For as little as £10.00 you can sponsor a roof slate, and obtain a certificate to show your pride in Paisley Abbey and our great town.
Sponsorship can be made by individuals, organisations, shops and companies, and all will receive their certificate for a £10.00 minimum donation.
Apart from a roof sponsorship, it is possible to buy a donation certificate as a gift, or even as a lasting memorial to someone now departed.
Payment can be made by:
